The body of this set-neck guitar is made from a single piece of African padauk and has a
carved top. The top edge is bound in cream plastic, while the back is rounded over for comfort.
The neck is maple, with a scarf-jointed headstock. The 25-inch
scale fingerboard is rosewood, and holds 22 heavy-gauge frets.
The markers are abalone dots, as on almost all my guitars.
The hardware is gold coloured, and the Schaller wrapover bridge (a Bedlam favourite) mounts firmly into the body on two studs.
The pickups comprise a 'Rocker' at the bridge, and a Seymour
Duncan 'Pearly Gates' at the neck. These are controlled with a
single volume knob and a standard 3-way toggle switch. A 4-way
rotary switch selects various single coil and phasing modes for
extra versatility.
The sounds are exactly as you would expect from a 2-humbucker
guitar, with the rotary switch offering a very 'Peter Green'
sound with both humbuckers out of phase. The sound is very crisp,
and is particularly good for recording- especially through multi-effects
units.
